Can you put a towel and pillow in cold air return to block noise in apartment?
I think there is alot of noise traveling through this vent, so I put a towel and pillow inside. Then I put cardboard over it and taped with duct tape. Is this safe? Thanks.
it wont really hurt anything but your heat/ac wont work well anymore…
this is how heat/ac gets controlled, by returning the air in your space and controling it w/ heat/ac…

Safe yes, but it will interfere with the heating and cooling of your apt. Those vents return the cool air to the furnace so it can be heated again and returned to your apt. to keep you warm. In the summer, it cools the air to keep you cool.
