do maids accommodate special requests @ hotels ? united states Travel question.?
I am on vacation and the blanket and pillow are making me breakout ( I am very sensitive to some detergents.) I went to the store and bought a blanket and pillowcase and id prefer to use them now. Should I leave the maid a note asking her to not make the bed, to not put the original bedding back on the bed? Or is this rude? Will she even accommodate my request? If I do leave. Note, should I explain the situation? I don’t travel too much, please advise. Thanks!
The problem is, some of the housekeeping staff don’t speak or read English very well. Do leave the note, but also call the front desk and ask to speak to the Head of Housekeeping and explain your issue to them.

Leaving the note will not work because the maid needs to do everything her job requires or else she gets in trouble. You have to speak to the management and then they will give the maid permission to not make your bed according to hotel regulations.
