Mildew type smell with Tempurpedic Pillow?
I bought a Tempurpedic Pillow several months ago and it had a very strong mildew type smell. I found out that that was common and the material has that kind of smell, but it usually goes away over time. Well its been like 6 months now and its still there. Does anyone know how to get rid of that smell??

Tempurpedic calls it a slight odor. Many customers are bothered by it and it will only go away in time. walking or squeezing the old chemical smell out and letting the new smell in will help speed up the process.
Some customers are very sensitive to smell and it bothers them even more for even longer.
Outgassing (sometimes called offgassing, particularly when in reference to indoor air quality) is the slow release of a gas that was trapped, frozen, absorbed or adsorbed in some material.[1] It can include sublimation and evaporation which are phase transitions of a substance into a gas, as well as desorption, seepage from cracks or internal volumes and gaseous products of slow chemical reactions. Boiling is generally thought of as a separate phenomenon from outgassing because it occurs much more rapidly.
spray it with febreeze and leave it outside in the sun on the clothes line for about 5 or 6 hrs.
Try febreeze.
I’m having the same problem with the mattress also. Leaving a window open and the bed uncovered helps a bit. Perhaps this will help with your pillow also.=)
Lysol it and keep on until it’s gone. Do this every morning and just before you go to bed, about an hour or so before you sleep.
Don’t use febreze or lysol, that’s just masking the odor , the chemicals may harm the pillow, and the pillow is just outgassing the fumes. If you have a dryer, you could try putting it in there with no heat (air dry) and tumble it for a few minutes. That will suck some of the fumes out. It does take a long time for it to go away, we have a mattress topper that took several months, and if you smell it close up it still smells.
