I sleep on my back and wake up with neck pain. What is the type of pillow I should get?
I got cheap pillows from walmart and they are now flat and I hate them, I’m willing to pay more but how do I know they won’t get flat? Is there a better filling (goose etc) or what?

You can get memory foam pillows which are excellent, but will probably set you back 50-60 dollars a pop. You could also get a "firm" pillow that is made of foam, that should stop the neck pain. Feather pillows will go flat eventually, regardless of cost! You have to fluff them every morning!
go to IKEA
get a foam Memory pillow
!!! believe me it works great
Get a pillow called Comfort Pillow its a pillow with curve to the neck some walmart stores sell it. the range price between $9.00 to $50.0. its good pillow to support neck
here is a picture of the comfort pillow

It’s not your pillow that is the problem, it’s your neck itself. It needs a tune up and then you won’t have this problem.
Put your hands behind your head placing your fingers on your neck muscles and applying a moderate pressure to them and holding it.
Relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don’t tense up any part of your body including your arms, let your hands do the work.
After 30 seconds, slowly lower your head until your neck is fully extended.
Release the pressure but hold your head there for one minute.
For your front:
Place your thumbs up under your chin near the front and press hard into the muscle under your tongue. It will be hard as a rock but press against it anyway.
Relax again.
When the muscle releases, 30 to 60 seconds, slowly raise your head until your neck is fully extended.
Release the pressure but hold your head there for one minute.
If you still have trouble let me know, there are a few more to try.
