can cigerett odors travel to second floor if you have a patition block sec. floor from first?
if persons smoke on first floor of my home can smoke odor affect fabric on sec. floor where no one smokes? I sell designer pillow covers and wedding things on e-bay. one person left bad feedback. said covers smelled of smoke but no one smokes in work area where fabric is.please help with honest answer. do burn candles on sec. floor.

Yes, cigarette smoke can still get to the second floor. It gets through all of the cracks and crevices. It does get through the same way air does. Just store the items in plastic bags and this should help keep the smell off of the item you are selling.
No one smokes in our house at all, but once I must have worn my coat around a smoker, then put it away for the summer. The next fall, it smelled of smoke, so the odor must permeate and linger, to be smelled mostly by non-smokers.
