I get very bad hip cramps when I sleep on my side and it keeps me awake all night. Any suggestions?
I’m only 19 weeks pregnant and I shudder to think what it will be like later in the pregnancy. I’ve tried placing a pillow between my legs and it doesn’t work the least bit. Seems like it puts more weight on my bottom leg cutting off blood flow. I’ve also tried putting a pillow under one side of my back to life me off my hip but I still get the cramps on both sides and it is not comfortable. I’ve also tried a body pillow– even more uncomfortable. I sleep on a tempurpedic mattress, maybe this is why? Is it too comforming to my body? Should I try a firmer mattress? Any suggestions, however unconventional, would be helpful!!

I have the same problem, but it didnt come till much later, I am 34 weeks and just started getting them
sorry to hear youre going thru it so much earlier. I found that sleeping on my couch has helped a great deal, I dont really know why, but maybe you could give it a shot?
don’t sleep on your side
Tylenol!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it helps!
A firmer mattress is definitely better. I am 27 weeks and the pain in my hips sometimes wakes me up at night. I find some comfort using the body pillow (put it next to you, not between your legs) by laying on my side with the botttom leg straight, and the top leg on the pillow at a 90 degree angle. This takes a little pressure off my hip because it puts me on a slight angle. You can’t change how you change positions during the night, but it might help a little. I was a hardcore belly sleeper, but I’ve since become accustomed to sleeping on my back.
