Is a pillow top mattress or tempurpedic good for anyone?
got a pillow top a few years ago as my husband was complaining that our mattress which I found perfect, was too firm. We agreed on a firmness and bought a pillow top mattress a few years ago. At first it was comfy, but I soon realized that you can’t flip a pillow top mattress, only rotate it which sort of makes it dip in both sides.. Not to mention it’s really hot! If we lived up north I might like it, but in Texas it makes us hot. The small back problems I had seem terrible when I wake up, and although it’s partly my age, I think some of it is due to the lack of support with the PT, which I got with a regular mattress. If you have back aches, is it better to have a firm or soft mattress?
K- thought of sleep number, but isn’t that kind of like an air mattress? I’m thinking of getting a king box spring and getting two twins of different firmness to put on top. Is that possible?

There are people who consider pillow top mattress and tempurpedic mattresses the best ones in the mattress market. It just depends on comfort preferences. The firmness of these mattresses provide better back comfort. Tempurpedic is not ideal in places with very humid and very hot weather. Since the mattress has high density level, it tends to conform to room temperature. Heat gets trapped inside the mattress and does not get dispersed easily.
This is going to sound gimicky but I have heard that the Sleep Number beds are the best solution for couples that share a bed. I have serious back pain issues unlike my boyfriend. He prefers a softer pillowtop, whereas I prefer something more firm, but that molds to my back. You can adjust the shape and firmness with those sleep number beds and I hear they last longer than pillow tops.
