Are all Tempurpedic beds so hard without the pillow top? It gives me muscle spasms?
(this is actually a serious question from me for once)
I have owned a temp. bed for 2 years now, i have the waterproof cover and 2 temp. pillows too.
one time i house sat for a friend, and slept in her temp. bed and loved it, it was great. but i think she had the pillow top, but that costs another hundred bucks.
after paying a thousand bucks for a bed, i cant believe its this uncomfortable without the pillow top. if im going to pay that kind of money, it should be comfy with or without the pillow top. it just never softened up.
Does this bed hurt anyone elses back or neck? even the pillow hurt my neck at times. I’m thinking of selling it and just buying a high quality regular mattress. im very disappointed with this bed, its just too hard.

they use a higher density foam than others that’s the most logical reason I can think of
Yes. The Tempurpedic brand uses foam with a high density (I believe it’s 5.2 pounds per square inch). This is considered higher quality and more durable, but it’s also very firm. As far as I know, they do not offer a softer version. If you spend much time reading reviews of memory foam mattresses, you’ll find that a lot of people feel the same way you do: they think a lot of the memory foam mattresses are too hard.
Some other brands of memory foam mattresses add a layer of lower density foam (around 3 lbs/sqin) and have a much softer feel.
