My son is 2 years 5 months of age. Is a travel size pillow (from walmart) okay for him to use?
The pillow we purchased is about 4 inches thick. I know he is past the SIDS stage, but I am a first time mother and am a little nervous about letting him use a pillow. He balls his blankets up and uses them as a pillow.

He’ll be fine. I allowed my son to use ordinary pillows since he was 2 years old. Infants are different. Beside the concern over SIDS, babies don’t have very developed motor skills. They can get themselves stuck in a pillow and can’t pull themselves up enough so they suffocate. Your 2 year old is much more developed than a helpless infant. I’m sure he can run, jump and climb everywhere now. lol Moving his face away from a pillow should be no problem.
That is fine, i used a little kids pillow with my boys at 18 months old and they loved it. They were doing the blanket thing too.
He can safely use a pillow now, you do not need to worry about it. Get him a big soft cushy one.
yes
That is perfectly fine. My daughter won’t sleep on anything but the small travel size pillow she’s had since she was a baby.
If they’re balling their blankets up to use them as pillows then they are definitely ready for a pillow.
My daughter is now 22 months, and when she was about 7 months she started having restricted airways, aka ASTHMA, so I started putting a full size pillow under her head to keep the phlegm out of her chest and she loved it then, so I am sure he will love it now! Good Luck
Yes its okay to use pillows my daughter has been using one since she turned 1 she was always taking extra pillows off of our spare bedroom bed to use.
