What is the best orthopedic pillow for someone who wakes up with neck pain?
I rarely wake up with neck pain, but when I do, it is excruciating. About a week ago I woke up with some really bad neck pain, but this time it is taking much longer to get better. I am still in pain right now and I am tired of it, literally. I can’t get a good nights sleep. From your experience, what is the best orthopedic pillow out there? I have 3 in mind right now, the mediflow ( http://www.amazon.com/MEDIFLOW-Water-Pillow-Mediflow-Padding/dp/B000EE5DTK/ref=pd_sbs_hpc_12 ), the Tri-Core ( http://www.amazon.com/Tri-Core-Orthopedic-Standard-Support-Pillow/dp/B000ET9TXQ/ref=pd_sim_hpc_1 ), and the memory foam ( http://www.amazon.com/Memory-Foam-Contour-Pillow/dp/B000MM9IZ4/ref=pd_sbs_k_8 ). I am looking at these because they look like they might help and they fit my budget, but I’m willing to learn about any other pillows as well. If you know a lot about pillows, which one of these do you think would be most effective? Thanks for your help.

First, be sure you have treated the problem and not just easing the symptoms. Make sure your doctor has xrayed your neck to be sure that there are no "spurs" or arthritic deformities causing your problem. I had cervical disc dissection after playing around with epidural injections, chiropractors and physical therapy. I hope it is just an alignment problem…I now count on my memory-foam neck pillow for a much more comfortable nite’s sleep. Again..be sure of the underlying problem first..Good luck and God Bless!
